Members must have a GPA of 3.0, rank in the top 35 percent of their graduating class, meet the expectation of academic integrity, and obtain faculty endorsements.
The capstone experience is interdisciplinary and differs for each student. In the capstone each graduating student demonstrates his or her knowledge by effectively communicating that knowledge to others during the Susan Colby Colgate Scholars' Symposium.

Forty-seven students were recently inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu honor society at Susquehanna University. The purpose of Pi Gamma Mu is to encourage the study of the social sciences and to achieve synthesis therein; to inspire social service to humanity by an intelligent approach to the solution of social problems; and to recognize outstanding achievement. The Pennsylvania Gamma Chapter was established in 1927.
Four students were named as 2016 Outstanding Seniors by the Susquehanna University Alumni Association. Each year the alumni association selects well-rounded seniors who "most typify the ideals of Susquehanna University."
